MF CASR Lunch with Kaja Borchgrevink and Gina Lende

With Faith in Development?
The Case of Muslim Humanitarianism

Informasjon

Dato/tid:
20.10.2020 - 11:30 til 12:00

A central component of Muslim practice is giving to the poor and less privileged. Muslim actors are increasingly recognized as part of the global development sector. But still a lot is unknown as to how networks, practices and values impact this work. The international research project "Power of Ideas: Muslim Humanitarian Actors and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)", which started autumn 2020, will examine local (Nigerian, Indonesian and Pakistani) as well transnational Muslim humanitarianism. The project aims to gather new empirical data on Muslim humanitarian practice, as well as shed light on often unspoken differences in ideas, norms and values that underlie humanitarian policies and practices.

This MF CASR Lunch will take place in-person at the MF Library (2nd Floor, between Rows 5&6) in accordance with Norwegian Institute of Public Health guidelines and MF's own current protocols. It will also be possible to participate virtually by using this link.. If you are symptomatic, under quarantine, or at-risk, please join us that way for the time being.
