Bachelor in Theology, Religion and Society
Dear student, welcome to MF Norwegian School of Theology, Religion and Society!
We are excited to welcome you as a student in our bachelor’s degree program in Theology, Religion, and Society (BTRS).
Your official orientation will be held at MF Monday, August 12th at 10:00. Please note the date and plan on attending.
At the orientation, you will receive important information about registration, our computer systems, and an introduction to BTRS. Classes will start the same week, so please have your schedule clear and be prepared for important introductory lectures in all of your courses.
In the BTRS program, you will have the opportunity to study a wide range of subjects related to theology, religion, social sciences, and the intersection of these fields. By studying theology, religion, and society from this perspective, we hope that you will gain insights into your theology and traditions, as well as developing a greater understanding of the role religion plays both in the lives and societies all over the world.
Over the course of the three years of study, you will take courses in traditional theological disciplines such as Biblical Studies, Systematic Theology, and Church History. These will be taken alongside courses in religious studies—such as eastern religions, Islam, and Judaism—and courses in the social sciences—including sociology of religion. We firmly believe that if you engage with your studies in these subjects, it will make an impact that outlasts your time at MF.
As you begin to plan your semester, please be aware of the fact that this is a full-time program of study. That means that there will be a number of mandatory lectures and assignments, in addition to required reading and preparation for exams. Please keep your schedule clear and prioritize attending orientation, class events and lectures.
We look forward to seeing you at the orientation!
