Documentation

Applicants for BA and MPhil programmes
To be considered you must document a relevant academic background with diploma and transcript of records, and English language proficiency documentation. No other documentation is necessary for the admission process. Upload all documentation at the online application site as scan files in .pdf or .jpg file format. Hard copies are not necessary for the admission process, but you might be asked to present originals after admission (see further information below). Emails with attachment will not be considered nor replied to.

Applicants who complete a bachelor degree before July 1st can apply, but the application will not be considered before the completed degree is documented with diploma and transcript of records. All other necessary documentation must be received by the application deadline, including the required English language test results.

Information regarding verification of original documents
Applicants with completed education from the following countries below must be prepared, on request, to submit a statement of results/confirmation sent directly to the Office of Admission by the awarding institution/authority. In addition, these applicants must upload a scanned copy of their statement of results/confirmation. However, if requested to send original documentation, only applications with documentation that is sent directly to the Office of Admission will be considered. This applies to the following countries:

  • Ghana
  • Nigeria
  • Cameroon
  • Uganda
  • Ethiopia

Furthermore, as a preventive measure, MF will require a random selection of applicants to have their issuing institutions/authorities send original documents for control and verification. If you are selected to submit your documents, you will receive an email within two weeks after the application deadline of February 1st with information about when and how to deliver your documents. Please do not submit your original hard copies of documents before you receive an email about this.

Ranking of applicants
Only applicants who meet the admission requirements are qualified, and can be considered for admission. When the number of qualified applicants surpass the number of available places, applicants will be ranked.
MF prioritises applicants according to

  • grades and academic relevance of previous studies at a lower level
  • level of proficency in English
  • geographical balance

Applicants for master's programmes who are already master students or have completed a master's programme in Norway will normally not be prioritised.
