I am a field archaeologist and pottery expert focusing on the archaeology and material culture of the late Roman and medieval times. I have gained experience as a member of numerous archaeological expeditions in Egypt (Wadi al-Natrun, Bawit) and Greece (Messinia, Attica, Thasos, Kos). My doctoral thesis explores life in an Egyptian monastic settlement through the scope of pottery. Monastic archaeology remains one of my major research interests, next to the archaeology of industrial activities, especially pottery production and distribution. I am generally interested in aspects of everyday life, both in urban and rural environments during the late antique and medieval times. At MF I have joined the ERC-funded research project DEChriM that is directed by Prof. V. Ghica.
