Currently I am working on a project on the function the Old Testament story of king Solomon and the literature associated with him through quotations, allusions and literary echos in the Gospel of Matthew. I am interested in the study of the gospels as literature, texts from Second Temple Judaism and methodological questions about intertextuality and the historical study of texts and biblical literature in particular. I teach introductory courses in the New testament and also a specialized course on the use of the Scriptures of Israel in the New Testament. Being a trained and ordained Lutheran pastor, I also from time to time contribute to practical-theological courses.
