Presentation

My research interests are within the field of education, values, religion and society. I am for instance involved in an empirical mixed methods project on how professional ethics is done and understood in educational practices in Norway (Etipp). I have directed a four year research project, Learning and Knowledge Trajectories in Congregations (LETRA), an ethnographical case study analyzing knowledge and learning processes in three Norwegian congregations in The Church of Norway. I have worked on how values and knowledge in education may be understood on the background of processes of difference and globalization, both empirically and theoretically. In particular I have contributed to the understanding of tolerance in education, based on empirical and theoretical research. My research interests also include the relation between theory, practice and research, education and values, religious education, participative action research, the understanding of context, learning and knowledge-creation and the relationship between accountability policies and professional values.
