All students, employees and visitors are asked to respect the following guidelines:

  • Keep at least 1 meters away from others.
    • In teaching situations, educational institutions can make exceptions from the distance requirement.
  • If you have symptoms of respiratory illness, you are to stay home until you are free of symptoms.
  • If you suspect COVID-19 infection,
    • If there is no available test time, call the COVID-19 telephone in Oslo, and follow their instructions: +47 21 80 21 82
    • SiO has a free test station at Blindern. Read more at SiO's page.
  • Practice good hand and coughing hygiene: cover your mouth with your arm or use a disposable paper tissue which you immediately throw away.
  • Use the hand sanitizers placed around MF. Always use sanitizer when entering the building.
  • Avoid physical contact, including handshakes and hugs.
  • Use the stairs - avoid the elevator.

You are welcome to be at MF as long as you are well. But you cannot come to work or study in the building if you:

  • have symptoms of respiratory infection, even mild symptoms.
  • are in quarantine or isolation.
  • have been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting results.

MF has implemented additional cleaning of all public areas. We will also make sure it is possible to keep social distance. We ask you to respect this. We have also marked up recommended walking directions inside, to avoid crowding in the stairs and at other meeting places.

If you notice symptoms while you are in the building:

  • Contact the reception.
  • Cover your mouth and nose.
  • Go home as soon as possible. Avoid public transportation. If you require help with getting home, you will be shown to a room where you can wait. Afterwards, rooms, WCs and other places you have been will be cleaned.

Eating areas

  • Avoid food preparation in common areas. Pack a lunch from home instead.
  • Limit how much you share silverware, cups and glasses. Use your own cup or bottle, wash it yourself or use disposable items.
  • Do not leave anything you have used for eating or drinking in any common area.
  • Wash your hands or use surface disinfectant before you use the touch screens of coffee machines.
  • Make sure to maintain social distancing while eating.
  • Wipe tables and chairs with disinfectant before use.

Study rooms and library

  • Wipe the surfaces you touch with disinfectant.
  • If several people wish to work together, the room must be large enough for you to maintain social distancing (1 meter).
  • Dispose of trash and take all personal items with you when leaving.

Classrooms and meeting rooms

  • Allow a distance of 1 meter between participants and use the seat and table arrangement found when entering the room.
  • Use disposable cups.
  • Wipe the table and any keyboards with surface disinfectant before the meeting.

Printers and other shared equipment

  • Wash your hands and/or use surface disinfectant before using the copier or printer.
  • If possible, use your card instead of your finger on the control panel.
  • Wipe surfaces, the keyboard, touch screens, control panels etc. with surface disinfectant before use.
  • Wait your turn, and maintain a distance of at least 1 meter.

Shared offices

  • Maintain a distance of at least 1 meter.
  • Wipe keyboards and tabletops with surface disinfectant before use.

The gym, fitness room and locker rooms are closed for the time being.

The SiO-canteen is closed until further notice.
