Start of the Autumn Semester 2021

We welcome all students to the start of a new semester!

Info

Date/time:
13.08.2021 - 10:00 to 17.08.2021 - 15:00

If all goes as planned, we will go back to normal instruction on campus this autumn. In line with the government's reopening plan step 4, we plan for physical education without distance requirements from the start of the semester. We are following the corona situation closely and will take the needed action if/when necessary.

Please read the guidelines regarding covid-19 before you come to MF.

The autumn semester starts for most in week 33. This week will also be the welcome- and buddy week for new students. You will find all the information you need about your classes and seminars in your schedule.

Due to the corona situation, there will be no Academic opening ceremony this year. But we encourage all of you to join the traditional Semester Opening Service Wednesday 18 August.

From week 34, there will also be social events especially for our 2nd year students and everyone else we have not seen in the last year. More information about this will come in early August. This is part of the government's package of measures administered by SiO. Read more about the various events that are being planned.

We look forward to seeing you!

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
If you recently have arrived in Norway or plan to arrive later from abroad, please read the information from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health very carefully, and follow their instructions.
You must not break your quarantine to attend the orientation meeting, lectures, or show up at MF at all. Once you are out of quarantine, you can attend activities at MF.

START OF STUDIES FOR NEW STUDENTS

As a new international student, there are two important meetings you have to attend.

Friday 13 August: Orientation meeting
Tuesday 17 August: Information meetings for each study programme

At the orientation meeting you will get information, tips and tricks to help you get started as a student in Norway.
At the information meeting for your programme, you will learn all you need to know about registration, courses, teaching and other relevant information for your programme. You will meet your programme leader, student advisor and your fellow students.

It is important that you attend both the orientation and information meeting. If you are prevented from coming to MF, it will be possible to follow the meetings on zoom.

After the orientation meeting, there will be taken photos for your student cards. If you want your student card right away, you will have to pay the semester fee 2-3 days prior.

You will also be divided into buddy groups and you will meet your buddies. We encourage all new students to take part in the buddy week activites.

Please read the guidelines regarding covid-19 before you come to MF.
