Start of the Autumn Semester 2020

We welcome all students to the start of a new semester!

Info

Date/time:
07.08.2020 - 10:00 to 11.08.2020 - 15:00

Due to the corona-situation there will be no Academic opening ceremony this year. But we encourage all of you to join the Semester Opening Service in Fagerborg church Wednesday 12 August at 10.00.

After a different spring semester, we want to offer as much instruction at MF as possible this autumn. In order to have enough space for this (with 1 meter between all students in all rooms), some instruction will have to be digital. We also wish to enable students belonging to high-risk groups, or who live with others belonging to high-risk groups, to complete their studies as planned. The most important step in achieving this is that the attendance requirement is removed in most courses. Please check the course description to see what applies to your courses.

You will find all the information you need about your classes and seminars in your schedule.

Please read the guidelines regarding covid-19 before you come to MF.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
If you recently have arrived in Norway or plan to arrive later from abroad, please read the information from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health very carefully, and follow their instructions.
You must not break your quarantine to attend the orientation meeting, lectures, or show up at MF at all. Once you are out of quarantine, you can attend activities at MF.

START OF STUDIES FOR NEW STUDENTS

As a new international student, there are two important meetings you have to attend.

Friday 7 August: Orientation meeting
Tuesday 11 August: Information meetings for each study programme.

At the orientation meeting you will get information, tips and tricks to help you get started as a student in Norway.
At the information meeting for your programme, you will learn all you need to know about registration, courses, teaching and other relevant information for your programme. You will meet your programme leader, student advisor and your fellow students.

The previously announced Buddy week has been cancelled due to the covid-19 situation.

It is important that you attend both the orientation and information meeting.
If you are prevented from coming to MF to either of these meetings, it will be possible to follow them online. MF uses Zoom for video conferences. You will find a link to your information meeting in the programme below. Passwords will be sent by e-mail 2-3 days prior to the meeting.

If you are attending the meetings at MF, there will be taken photos for your student cards after. If you want your student card right away, you will have to pay the semester fee 2-3 days prior.

Due to the covid-19 situation, we can not allow too many people inside the building at the same time. It is therefore important that you come to MF at the right time. Find the time and place for your programme in the list below.

Please read the guidelines regarding covid-19 before you come to MF.
