Eviane Leidig is a postdoc on the INTERSECT (Intersecting Flows of Islamophobia) project, and an affilate at the Center for Research on Extremism (C-REX) at the University of Oslo. Her current research compares the role of women in the far right in India and North America. She looks in particular at influencers on social media who promote Hindu nationalist and alt-right narratives, respectively, and the transnational connections between these movements.

Leidig holds a PhD in Sociology (2020) from the University of Oslo. Her doctoral dissertation traced transnational connections of the far right between India and the West, particularly through Indian diaspora supporters of Brexit and Trump in the UK and US. During her PhD, Leidig was visiting researcher at the Oxford Internet Institute and New York University.

An outward facing researcher, Leidig regularly contributes to international media outlets and consults for policy makers and civil society organisations. She is also Head of Publishing at the Centre for Analysis of the Radical Right (CARR), and an Associate Fellow at the Global Network on Extremism & Technology (GNET).
